30 days!
Whooooo...taking a deep breath!
We have survived one month! Well better yet I haven't killed anyone, locked them in closets or become a drinker!
I will say the last few days of this month were harder for all of us in terms of missing Jay. We have learned to cope as best as we can. Kaitlyn sleeps with a stuffed animal made for Jay by a girlfriend of mine. This particular bear happens to wear Browns Football pajamas every night. Nicole sleeps in his Mr. Incredible jersey we got him at Disney world. For them it is a way to feel closer to him. For me it makes me smile! I'll let you in on what I do to cope. I can still smell his cologne and when I go to bed I like to lay on his pillow for just a bit...not too long though cause I don't want the scent to go away and start to smell like my perfume.
The girls though wanted to get in on my blogging. So they came up with their own picture. Than they headed outside. I tried to set my camera for them and let them rock it out.
OMG!
First off Nicole holding my camera with a 300mm lens is a recipe for a disaster! The camera makes her a bit front heavy and I thought for sure she was going to face plant right into the concrete! She really was kinda wobbling back and forth! Well anywho there she is and she is pressing every button BUT the shutter button. Holy moly.. its the big silver one! She managed to change every setting on the camera and still not take a picture!
Than there is Kaitlyn. Holding her heart hands above her head. You would think we had tied anchors to her wrists. She is making quite a storm over this! I mean seriously YOU'RE 9! I start to worry at this point that we need to toughen her up a bit, 2 minutes of your hands over your head should be doable! Her heart is starting to sink, looking more like a rectangle with every setting Nicole changes on the camera.
So they have managed to change all the settings, the exposure is off, the ISO is really high (making a grainy picture). They have fought and complained. And found the pile of dog mess and not just one of them stepped in it.. BOTH OF THEM!
But than it happened.. they got the picture they wanted!
OH the cheering! This is the one Mom, this is the one for Dad!
At this moment I realize that it doesn't matter that the picture isn't perfect technically cause they took it for their Dad and they were proud of themselves. It didn't matter to them, none if it. The fighting, the arguing the smell. They were happy to contribute and make something special for their Daddy!
In the end Nicole hands me my camera! It's a hot mess putting all the settings back and she looks at me with that little innocent face and says..."see Mom, I told you i could use your camera!" Oh geez... I need a drink!
Look Mom, My hands!

Awww I love this picture!! Good job Girls!! Glad you have made it without killing them ( I know it was a close call a few times lol) You 3 will get each other through this.....Love you!
