Life's blessing! Bundles of joy! Treasures!
Ok so that may be how some describe these little gifts from above and most days I may use something close to that. BUT. Than there are days like today.
The girls were spot on today! I don't know when they started to argue so much but arghhhh!!!! One wants to play barbies, one wants to play board games, one wants to go outside, one wants to take a nap. Just once I would like both of them at the same time to want to do the same thing! I know, I know I ask too much! But hey a mom can dream right!
I try to do the thing where I explain how "when I was young I didn't have a sister and I played monopoly with the dogs" (it sounds more pathetic when I type it out). I try to compromise with them..."you play barbies with her, than she will play board games with you". I try ignoring the bickering.
Needless to say none of it works. They keep coming back for me to referee or for me to entertain.
Some days I feel like a circus clown, juggling dinner, cleaning, a board game and doing some craft project all while trying to keep up with my grueling tv schedule!
But it hit me today. While getting all of the above done I love the in between time when I have just finished cleaning the kitchen, you know the point where you look at what you accomplished and kinda smile. You think do I continue to the next room or sit for a minute. It's in this moment the girls always seem to find me. It's in this moment where we sneak a little time. Where a craft project becomes a family thing or where a quick game of uno becomes a great laughing adventure. It;s these moments where they finally do the same thing at the same time! I don;t have to force these moments or tell them stories about how I spent my Saturday's when I was nine. They are the easy parts of the day and honestly the best ones!
When I finally set back out to finish my tasks though they continue to go back to their quarreling...but soon there will be another clean room and another moment. Here is the finished product of my favorite moment today... we laughed and we talked and all I thought was how they really are a life;s blessing!
They had to use every color of polish possible! This makes me proud!

Thanks! I love that they want to be like me! I always paint my toes all different colors!
