Day 26

Here we go! A day late but never short!

Yesterday was so AWESOME!

I put on my new threads, grabbed a cute pair of shoes, got all my gear and was so ready to rock and roll!!

So I am driving to the location and realize I have to get some cushion things for my shoes. They were sensible flats but this will come into play later.

I get to the location and there are three separate areas where a wedding could take place, there are signs that say wedding  guests, so naturally I follow those. I am sitting waiting and I cant find 'awesome photogs' car anywhere. Finally I ask a guy with a really big camera if I was in the right place...well he didn't like me and my camera bag and kinda answered hastily that I was in the wrong area.
SO round and round I go and I see a sign for the house I am supposed to be at but right under it says DO NOT ENTER... so yeah, the law breaker that I am.. in I went and found the wedding!!

This place was gorgeous and you'll have to take my word on it ( I do not have permission to post wedding pics yet) so was the wedding party.
Right away I go to work. I am so stinking nervous but I just try and pep talk myself like the little girl in the you tube video on her counter!
Time starts to go and we were on full speed.
I had never had so much fun!
I loved being able to help on such a special day!

I notice some pain though...
hmmm..
Darn it! Those cushy things are so not helping in my sensible flats. I tried to adjust but had to go on with my day.
I loved watching Mr. Awesome Photog. Seriously it was so great and I learned so much. About how to shoot a wedding and the pace and structure. Seeing it first hand with someone so obviously skilled was so great.
At one point during the reception I looked down at my poor feet. For all you women out there, you know how when you get a new pair of shoes and they rub and rub. Yeah well mine had been rubbing for about 6 hours now. I knew what I had to do, what any South Carolina girl would do. I went bare footed! Yep you know it! Rocked the rest of that night out in my bare feet! Thank God for a cute pedi!
I ended the night on a great note with the offer of another job! ( I cant take that one cause we are out of town).
I didn't notice how much pain I was actually in till I got in my car and started driving. I had seen the boo-boos (hopefully awesome photog did too) but man I got home and realized how much I wrecked myself!
I'll save you all the picture but now my feet are bandaged and I am staying off of them.
I am so thankful for the opportunity I was given and so hoping more come my way.

I learned a few great things...
1. posted signs are merly suggestions
2. a good workout plan everyday will ensure that your body is equipped for the physical tasks of shooting (it's like yoga on steroids)
3. alligators and raccoons are regular guests at South Carolina weddings ( i saw both)
4. Wearing a CIA like ear piece is kinda annoying, gets tangled on everything OHHH and volume control is MUY IMPORTANTE! (my ears are still ringing)
5. TENNIS SHOES, TENNIS SHOES, TENNIS SHOES...cute footwear is overrated if you can't do your job and if you force it and do your job anyways you may just pay for the whole next week!

All in all... I know I am doing exactly what I want to do. I know that this work is meant for me! There is nothing more that I want to do. Weddings are fabulous! I love being with people for that day and being able to share in such a great part of their lives! I cant wait for the next time to which I am sure that I will learn so much more and totally rock my sketchers...(dear sketchers, shameless plug).
