Day 7

I'm almost certain if I looked through my report cards as a kid some misguided teacher said, "While Collette is a thrill to have in class, she lacks organization and commitment to a task". Obviously this teacher had no clue! While I try to have a place for everything in my house and a perfectly organized junk drawer this is soooo not the case. I set out every new school year to make a family schedule. I truly try to make certain times for everything so it all runs smoothly. This last...ohhhh well...about a day! Something always throws a hitch in my giddy up and the plan crashes and burns right in front of my eyes.

There is one fall ritual, one back to school task I am able to complete with accuracy, dedication and devotion. What is it? Well figuring out my fall tv lineup of course! For most this would not be something they have to calculate out. For me though, it is an art form. I have to precisely evaluate my shows deciding on who will DVR and who will be watched first. I let DirecTV rob me blind every month so I can receive two feeds, East and West coast. I do this because there are too many shows on the same night and in the same time slot! What's a girl to do? I rate which shows I can watch late and which are must haves that need to be recorded early. By doing this, those that are must see TV are recorded and ready to go by the time my evening coffee is brewed. I am able to watch, commercial free, because of this devotion.

I know this is neurotic and slightly pathetic but hey don't judge! You can call me on Thursday morning and ask if I was able to catch that episode of Modern Family, Law and Order or Hell's Kitchen..all shows on in the 9pm slot and I am totally able to reply with.. Heck YES! Can you believe what happened?

So really, my closet may be a mess and winter and summer clothes may intermingle but if you want to know who got kicked off Dancing With the Stars or what song they sang on Glee last night...I'm your girl! So really I do this for you guys!

If only my teacher could see my commitment and organization skills now!

  2. LMAO Collette, I had no idea that was why you paid to have both the East and West coast feeds! I thought you just wanted to be able to see the shows before everyone else while living over here on the west coast!
