This morning I woke up I knew it was Sunday. I like Sunday's for the most part. They ooze this easy, relaxed feeling. I want to get out the paper and sit on the porch with coffee. I want a big breakfast that you can smell down the street cooking. I want to take in the simple life and stop and smell the roses on a Sunday and fall into the mystic.
( I am fully aware it is football season at most of your houses, I am not partaking in THOSE Sundays)
Sundays are time to take an open- top cruise on a windy road. You know the scenic route. You can hear a fog horn in the distance. You're wearing a beautiful scarf to keep your hair together until you realize... yeah that's right... it's Sunday. You release the scarf.. you let it flap in the breeze. Be free and feel Sunday take over your soul.
So all day today I have rocked my Sunday. I DID go for a drive, I couldn't put the top down, but I blasted my soulful Sunday music. Van Morrison, Ottis Redding and Tracy Chapman.
I told the girls to put their i-pods on and just be breezy (they were not fans of my musical choices today).
I came home in the best, most rockin, relaxed mood.
Now I am cooking dinner. I have brought my i-pod in the kitchen. I am swaying along and with every stir of my mac-n-cheese I feel the music, I move my hips and tap my feet. Since I am in the kitchen alone..... I Sing!
So for the rest of your Sunday...find your Sunday groove. If Jay were here he would dance with me, he always does...he even goes for the dip every once in awhile! So dance in your kitchen, have your spouse step along with you. Sway along and put a smile on your face...cause you know what's even better than Sunday.....
You're kids go back to school tomorrow!
That's a whole different song!

Awesome!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAwe, it was a great day out today! Jay will be "dipping" you again in no time ;).
ReplyDeleteYou inspired me to go dance with my girls in thier room right after I read this, of course it was to children's songs, but fun none the less! Then I had the silly songs stuck in my head so all through dinner and bath time I was singing, wayyy off key, to them and they loved every minute of it. So thanks for helping me make awesome memories with them today!
