FALL IS COMING!
While having my coffee this morning, I looked out over the lawn and on the bushes were beautiful colors of auburn and gold! So exciting! You see I am a California girl, more exact a valley girl, "like totally proud of it too!" We don't have seasons! Unless Warm, Hot and Hotter are considered seasons. The military has failed up until this point to take me somewhere I could see this mystical magic I have only read about or seen in the movies. So this morning I was thrilled and decided right than and there I needed to share this!
On top of all of this I adore fall. Why is it my favorite season? Well when I was young it was because my birthday is in October! I have grown now though, matured...kinda, a little, slightly... ok well not much I still look forward to my birthday! But fall to me is a reminder. Of when times were more simple and life ran at a slower pace. To me it's like looking at a Norman Rockwell painting and going back. Back to when the mailman still delivered your mail... AT YOUR DOOR! When neighbors said Hi and brought baskets of freshly baked goods over. When kids played till the street lights came on. When women canned fresh jam and made apple pies, from scratch. When you could leave your front door unlocked.
Fall is a reminder of scents. Read these and than close your eyes...
Pumpkin Pie
Cinnamon Sugar
Cloves
Baked Apples
and
Roasted Pecans
(close your eyes now)
I know you feel it, the cool crisp breeze, the inclination to grab a blanket for two (if you're like me this year a blanket for one and a juicy novel) a cup of fresh brewed coffee, sprinkled with cinnamon, and a chair on your front porch just as the sun is setting. You know this time when the colors of nature take to the sky in glorious mauve's and magenta's.
Yeah... I see it! You have a little smile and a slight shiver!
So fall is coming and here is the proof! Even better when I see this next year I know Jay will soon be coming home to me...than I will DEFINITELY need a blanket for two!
P.S. my birthday is still in October, in case you wanted to write it down or something. =)

Fall is my favorite season, I mean I did name one of my children after it didnt I?!! Lol! Love this post and you have me super excited for a season I will not be able to see, but my home will sure smell like Fall! Great job :)
